Do you have no time? You have the kids to run around, work to do, then it's the animals and PTA meetings, the cooking and cleaning…. And you want me to exercise?!?
With a little planning and focus, let's see what we can do….
- Stuck at the desk or on a teleconference? On the hour sit up and stand up 15 times. When that gets easy, do that on one leg for 10.
- Stuck in a meeting? Contract and release your abdominals for 1 minute every 15 minutes.
- Think you'll get more done by sitting at your desk during lunch? You will actually have more focus if you at least get up and walk around the building once. The change of scenery and oxygen flow will help keep your creative juices flowing.
- Running errands? While in the grocery store line, stand on one leg and keep your core tight. Try walking lunges down the aisles. Or curl a gallon milk jug to the front of the store.
- Kids at practice? Why not walk around the field or down the street? Better yet, get another parent to come along with you!
- At the playground? Who says you have to stand around watching? Why not swing with your young ones? Play hop scotch or jump rope? Tag and Red Rover can also be fun for everyone!
- While your lunch is in the microwave, do a wall sit, then try to lift one leg at a time in that wall sit.
Can't remember? Outlook has great calendar reminders that pop up on your computer screen!! I've used them for getting up for walks and remembering to take lunch. Your phone can do the same thing!
Let me know of any other ways you get a little more exercise in each day! As you may already know, a little adds up and with consistency you will reach your goals!
Have a fabulous day! Let's keep it moving, together!
